DEVON
CHRONIC PAIN
PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES
The first step in chronic pain physiotherapy treatment is a thorough assessment of the patient's pain and functional limitations. We take a detailed history of the pain, as well as any previous treatments and medications. We also perform a physical exam to assess strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
Based on the assessment, we develop a personalised treatment plan that may include:

PATIENT
EDUCATION
We believe that education is a crucial aspect of chronic pain physiotherapy treatment. We educate our patients on the underlying causes of their pain and how various treatments can help alleviate pain.

THERAPEUTIC
MODALITIES
We may use various modalities during your chronic pain therapy treatment, such as heat or ice therapy, electrical stimulation, and INDIBA, to help with pain, circulation, swelling and muscle spasms.

EXERCISE
THERAPY
Exercise therapy is an important part of chronic pain physiotherapy treatment. Our physiotherapists design a customised exercise program that targets specific areas of weakness or limitation. Exercise can help improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion, reducing pain and improving overall function.

CBT
THERAPY
Chronic pain can lead to negative thought patterns and emotions, which can exacerbate the pain. Our physiotherapists may use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) techniques to help patients manage their pain by changing negative thought patterns and improving coping skills.

MANUAL
THERAPY
Manual therapy techniques, such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and manipulation, can help alleviate pain, improve range of motion, and reduce muscle tension.

HOLISTIC
APPROACH
Our approach combines various therapies to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore your strength. We focus on enhancing posture, boosting coordination, and supporting day-to-day activities, empowering you to return to daily life with confidence.
